Housing Resources

MaineHousing provides a variety of programs and services and resources related to housing access and affordability in Maine.

  • Emergency Rental Assistance program provides rental and utility relief payments to help eligible renters. Maine’s Community Action Agencies will review applications, check eligibility, and process payments for eligible expenses on behalf of households.   
  • Emergency Shelters are available in Maine for those who are homeless or may become homeless. This page includes a listing of emergency shelters by county.

DHHS Housing Services and Resources: This page includes information on a variety of programs and services to support access to stable quality, affordable housing for those living with disabilities, mental and behavioral health needs, and substance use disorders.

Youth Homeless Services: Youth under the age of 21 who are experiencing homelessness or have unstable housing have access to services where they are located, including outreach services, drop-in services, emergency shelter, and transitional living services.
